School officials' ouster sought at Ridgeville
A painting showing Sen Edward M Kennedy emerging from the surf was taken down at a Boston hotel. Artist Alan Rehingold, 20, from Chicago and a Rhode Island School of Design student, says the work depicted Kennedy at Chappaquiddick after Mary Jo Kopechne's death in 1969.

Teachers Govern Discipline and Pay Disputes in Elyria Pact
Negotiators for the Elyria Board of Education and the Elyria Education Association reached a tentative pact on school discipline procedures and teacher pay. The agreement calls for voluntary study committees at elementary, junior high, and high school levels to draft discipline policies by April 1976 and allows principal detentions during investigations of assaults or credible threats. Beginning salaries would be 8,000 to 4,400 for bachelor’s degree teachers, with the board’s offers lower than the association’s requested 9,100 starting pay. Separately, a North Ridgeville taxpayers group pursues a dual petition to repeal 1 mill of the 2.1-mill operating levy and to remove the superintendent, a board member, and the board’s attorney, citing concerns over eminent domain and funds management.
