Hearst Heir to Seek Asylum in Algiers Reported
SAN FRANCISCO FBI declined to comment on a reported plan by fugitive newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst to seek asylum in Algiers. The report, from KPIX journalist Warilyn Baker, said Hearst would arrive with Jack Scott and his wife Vicki. Algerian officials had no information. The report followed prior statements that Hearst may have left to Algiers via Budapest or Cuba. Officials in New York doubted any NY stay occurred and noted Hearst’s attachment to the Berkeley kidnapping case. The piece also covers Ohio energy policy moves tied to the Federal Power Commission and the proposed Ohio Energy Development Authority.
