The forecast calls for snow and rain tonight over the Northern Plains shifting to showers and thundershowers into the Mississippi valley and Western Gulf coast. Sunny to partly sunny skies elsewhere with colder air in the Plains and Plateaus. Tonight lows around the upper 40s to low 50s, tomorrow cloudy and warm with afternoon showers and highs in the 70s.
Southeasterly winds 10 to 15 knots tonight becomes southerly 15 to 20 knots tomorrow. Cloudiness increases tonight with showers likely tomorrow.
A spring storm blanketed the northern Rockies and adjacent Plains with snow from Montana to Colorado. Warnings issued for parts of the Dakotas, western Nebraska, and eastern Wyoming as rain and thunderstorms spread eastward. The Little Sioux River flooded Cherokee Iowa, forcing about 200 people to relocate, with rising rivers in southern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Cold air dipped south to Arizona as eastern areas stayed mild.
Warren Miller a former Air Force member and real estate broker challenged IRS rules over the retirement income credit. The Tax Court ruled the earned income limit applies to self employment earnings, not gross self employed income, supporting Miller and limiting IRS collection.
Kevin Archer, 22, of 661 Cherlin Rd., was fined 250 dollars by Municipal Judge Frank M. Wilcox after pleading no contest to a driving while intoxicated charge. He received three days in county jail and a six month license suspension.
