David R. Plas 83 of Elyria died January 28 2015 after a short illness. A Navy flight navigator who served in Korea 1950 1954 he held leadership roles in Plas Construction and ABC Trucking and designed heavy equipment including a Boeing 747 Tow Tractor. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from Northrup University and lived in Elyria with his wife Patricia. He leaves children Timothy and Mary Katherine and granddaughter Tricia Rose Plus of Olympia Washington. A Christian Memorial Mass will be celebrated April 10 2015 at St. Agnes Church. Elyria composer and folk musician Tim Wallace died at Ames Family Hospice West Lake on March 29, 2015 after a protracted illness. He formed The Hooligans in the 1980s and helped found The Smokin Fez Monkeys, mentoring young musicians and promoting folk festivals. A Timstock tribute filled his final days as family and friends celebrated his life. In lieu of tributes, contributions to the Tim Wallace Music Fund will support singer songwriter tradition.
