North Ridgville picks three finalists for new middle school
Three finalists Panzica Bowen JV ICON Construction Solutions and Regency Infinity were selected to design a 232000 square foot two story middle school in North Ridgeville funded by a 58.1 million bond. The project plans a $5 million football stadium and possible bleacher integration with the school to provide access to locker rooms restrooms and concessions. A final contractor decision is expected by the end of April.

Oberlin Plans broad agenda to boost safety economy tourism

Lorain man pleads guilty to vehicular homicide
Aaron Ryan Fye 21 pleaded guilty in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court to aggravated vehicular homicide and related charges for a 2013 crash in Bradley Woods Reservation Westlake that killed Elyrian Fekete 22 and injured three others. He faces sentencing May 15. The incident showed no alcohol or drugs. A civil lawsuit seeks damage determinations if settlement fails.

Illegally Dumped Tires Plague Lorain County
Since 2009 Lorain County sheriff’s deputy Bill Curtis Environmental Crimes Unit has fought tire dumping. Jose Martinez was convicted of breaking and entering and illegal dumping for a 3500 tire pile at an abandoned Lorain house, illustrating a countywide problem.
