Subsurface Ocean Found Beneath Enceladus South Pole
Italian and American researchers using Cassini confirm a vast liquid water ocean beneath Enceladus south polar ice. The ocean may reach 25 miles deep, possibly covering most of the 310 mile moon, with plumes linked to the sea. Further study required to assess life potential.
