Lorain Slot Machine Case Not Finished This Session

Grand jury here resumed the Lorain slot machine probe but will not complete it in this session. The inquiry centers on why no prosecution followed police seizures of 25 machines in a downtown Lorain club last November 1938 and the alleged owner William McIntyre, a figure many believe is mythical. Deputies cannot locate him and the residence address given is believed invalid. The case includes a replevin suit by Albert Greulich to reclaim the machines, later dismissed, with handwriting tests and other potential leads still under investigation. Two witnesses, Dave Crawford Sr. and George Crawford, appeared seeking questions on ownership. Continued on Page 13.
