In Trenton the condemned Bruno Hauptmann died in the New Jersey electric chair after a quiet last day and a final German prayer. He offered no statement, and guards and ministers exchanged quiet farewells as the death chamber lights signaled the end of the Lindbergh case.
New York April 4 Dr John F Jassie Condon whose testimony helped convict Bruno Hauptmann of kidnaping and murder gave no comment on Hauptmanns execution He kept to a book in his Bronx living room as the electric chair ended the case and a friend notified another family member of the death The educator who had word that God would judge between them also refused further statement and lights went out shortly after.
Increasing cloudiness brings warmer temperatures tonight as occasional rain moves in Sunday. The east and south portions of Ohio expect warmer conditions Sunday with light showers in the forecast.
Mrs Bruno Richard Hauptmann, widow of the Lindbergh case, hid with friends in New York to escape crowds. She later faced questions about the death of her son and the fate of her husband, who died by electric chair. She prepared to arrange cremation of Bruno Hauptmann's body in Trenton after his execution.

She fainted at verdict and, amid relief from possible death penalty, planned a country rest and praised her attorney Samuel Leivowitz who boasted many murder acquittals.
Rome reports Haile Selassie's forces in the Lake Ashanzi area have been defeated and are retreating in a disorderly exodus toward the south. The official announcement was made today.
Ten people appeared before Judge D A Cook on secret indictments in Lorain County. Sumner Day pleaded not guilty to forging a cousin's name on a deed to Sheffield Lake property and was released on $1000 bond pending trial. Other arraignments included John Vidra carrying concealed weapons and Albert Snepard, Louis Dongarra, and Wi Lorain charged with various offenses. Trials are set for April 17 with a special criminal jury summoned.

Britain has in principle accepted the idea of a Locarno Powers meeting to be held in Paris.
Geneva April 4 League leaders refused a delay and ordered a meeting of the committee of 15 to seek a peaceful settlement of the Ethiopian war. Salvador de Madariaga of Spain will report Italy agreed to name a peace representative after Easter and to visit Rome. Italy has not yet answered whether it uses poison gas in Ethiopia in violation of the 1925 Geneva gas convention.
