Elyria announces its annual Spring cleanup beginning April 12 with three crews and three trucks. Daykin a Boy Scout deputy service director announced the plan prioritizing East side during the first week then center and South side the week of April 19 and West side the week of April 26. Crews will remove rubbish and cans in containers placed at curbs or in alleys and will not take ashes or items from rear lots or basements. Crews will not revisit already serviced areas.

Detroit Youths On Trial Here
The trial of Robert Catlin and Lawrence Weichert, Detroit youths, for taking a car in Lorain without owner consent moved slowly as jurors were seated. A third youth, William Jones, 17, was jailed earlier. the trio allegedly stole a car, entered William Comer’s Vermilion store, and carried two slot machines away, while a fourth possible member remained unapprehended.
