Noah Beery Rising From Bankruptcy to Screen Fame
Profiles for Today recount the career of Noah Beery once bankrupted by a $2000 medical bill and later rising from humble beginnings in Missouri. The piece traces his early jobs as a candy butcher and singer, the 8,000 dollar debt paid off within a year, his move to silent films, and his role as a pioneer alongside his brother Wallace in early motion pictures. It notes his later fortune and a life of ups and downs, with optimism for a future standout role.
