Congress probes General Dynamics submarine overruns
Two congressional subcommittees opened a joint inquiry into how General Dynamics ran up about 1 billion dollars in cost overruns on 18 attack submarines. The Kaufman study alleges the firm withheld cost data and submitted lower estimates to win a second contract, with the Navy paying roughly 739 million of the total 2.5 billion. Former Navy Secretary Edward Hidalgo testifies as hearings examine possible dual sets of records and delayed deliveries.

Regulating Government Securities Won’t Prevent Another Collapse
