Indians reshuffle as Nixon earns spot and injuries bite
Otis Nixon appears set to join the Indians roster after a strong spring while Thornton’s knee injury creates an opening. Nixon hit .154 in 49 games last season before a Maine assignment. Bando’s solid defense and quick release boost his bid to stay in Seattle’s 9-4 exhibition win. Indians president Peter Bavasi underwent back surgery and aims to work from a hotel room as he recovers.
