Court Dismisses Suit Over $50,000 Yacht
In Toledo on November 28 the $50,000 suit over possession of the former Woolworth family yacht Unda Maris was dismissed after Judge Lee N. Martin urged an out of court settlement. Roy C. Bulley sued his former secretary Thelma Dorr and Dr. John C. Pyle. Bulley claimed he bought the yacht and had Miss Dorr sign it over to him. Dorr said she was merely his agent and sold it to Dr. Pyle. The proposed settlement would split yacht proceeds among the three.

Navy Station Here Gets New Assistant
James H. Smith, chief machinist mate, United States fleet reserve, is assigned to the U. S. navy recruiting substation here to replace Alfred D. Young who transfers to the U. S. S. Casco at Bremerton Washington. Smith, a native of Atlanta, Ga., has 22 years in naval service and comes from the Cleveland recruiting station after serving aboard the Savannah. Young, a quartermaster first class in the fleet reserve, has 21 years in service and 16 months at the local substation. C. S. Keenan, chief signalman, is petty officer in charge. Enlistees noted include Daniel Basel Clemens Carl Earl Boyd Doyle Walter Hubert and Marion Edward Wingerter in regular navy and naval reserve.

Burned men recount yard tank explosion injuries
In Conneaut two workers were badly burned when a gasoline tank exploded during dismantling with an acetylene torch in a junk yard. Harry Rubenstein, 31, was hospitalized after coworkers wrapped him in a carpet to smother flames, while Stephen Reydak, 18, had entered hospital earlier after jumping into a pond to quench the fire.

Elevator inspection to gain its own division
George A. Strain state director of industrial relations announced the creation of a separate division of elevator inspection to relieve the factories and workshops division. About 215 people connected to elevator inspections would transfer under the new unit at no extra cost to the state. An appointee to head the division will be named soon.
