Fugitive Arrested Here Fast Police Work Nabs Euclid Murder Suspect
A 21-year-old Marine veteran, Robert P. Ziegler of Euclid, was arrested in Canton while sleeping at the Milner Hotel at 4 a.m. Sunday on a first degree murder charge in the slaying of Harry J. Cameron. Detectives traced a barroom conversation and hotel registrations to Ziegler, recovered the weapon from a Rex Avenue sewer, and stated he admitted the killing after blood drops on his clothes were found. He claimed the weapon went off during a struggle after meeting Cameron through a Euclid tavern party, and said he planned to flee to Chicago. Police recovered $46 on arrest and noted he had hoped to obtain $30 from a former Marine buddy. He was to be arraigned today in Parisville.

Rent Control Rules Open Path to Higher Rents and Services
Washington June 27 AP A million landlords may seek rent increases under the 1949 Rent Control Act as Housing Expeditor Tighe E Woods reports many application blanks issued. Four new orders may raise rents if landlords provide tenant services or improvements. Local directors have wide leeway for remodeling, decorating, furnaces and other upgrades. The expeditor notes potential economic boosts from spendings on 14 million dwellings, but warns on calculating exact rises. Many owners misstate costs or omit long-ago expenditures, while tenant consent rules limit immediate increases though exceptions exist for property preservation and standard practices.
