Punch on Nose Threat Cited at Trial of 11 Reds
At the Communist conspiracy trial in New York a defense attorney accused a government prosecutor of threatening to punch him in the nose and described him as a brute. Judge Medina urged calm as the exchange occurred during a recess with Frank H. Gordon. The trial also heard defense efforts to admit a lengthy statement by Gilbert Green. Judge Hand denied bail readmission for Green as part of an appeal.

A 27 year old factory worker was questioned as a suspect in the mutilation slaying of Mrs. Harvey Stahlhut, 22, whose disfigured body was found in a refrigerator at a Morrison tavern.
