Book quotes Nazi files defend Laval in Vichy era
ARIS reports a new French book uses secret German documents from Nuremberg files to portray Laval as resisting Axis demands rather than treason. Baraduc, Laval's former lawyer, recounts a luncheon with de Chambrun and a U.S. judge, and notes extensive translation work confirming Laval's cautious stance toward German pressure and Allied agents in Africa.
