Embattled Lancaster Police Chief Saved by Mayor Action
Lancaster June 23 AP Police Chief Harry H Hutsler kept his job after Mayor Fred von Stein declined to suspend him citing insufficient evidence. A five man citizens committee had recommended action though most signers withdrew amid personal concerns. The civil service commission opened hearings on suspensions related to extortion allegations involving Hutsler and Lt Brown.
