Loyalty Oath Bill Altered by Ohio Senators
Ohio lawmakers moved a second loyalty oath bill through the Senate judiciary committee by a 7 to 0 vote after House passage. The measure requires public officials and workers including teachers to take loyalty oaths, with perjury penalties for false swearing. Opponents from veterans groups and several organizations urged caution as witnesses argued the bills threaten constitutional rights amid a wave of hysteria.
