Truck Auto Crash Kills 2 At N Canton
A North Canton collision on Route 8 near 7th Street and Main Avenue killed Mrs. Anna Benson, 62, instantly, and her husband Oscar W. Benson, 63, died an hour later at Mercy Hospital. Three other women were critically injured. The truck tractor unit driven by James E. Harr, 23, of Akron, separated from its trailer and struck the Benson car, sending steel onto the vehicle. The event halted traffic for miles as responders freed victims and transported them to hospital.
