Control Is Chief Issue for Atomic Scientists
The Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists plans to curtail activities to avoid taking political stands while not dissolving. Led by Albert Einstein, the group funds the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and organized conferences. It cites international control as the crucial issue, to be discussed only within broader postwar settlements. The Bulletin will continue under Oppenheimer’s sponsorship.
