Speeches Held Vital in Labor Case Ruling
The Supreme Court ruled that speeches and statements by employers can be used by the National Labor Relations Board when deciding unfair labor practices. In a 6 to 0 decision the court reversed the Fourth Circuit, sending the Virginia Electric and Power Co. case back for more definite rulings. The board had charged anti union activity by J. G. Holtzclaw and others urging an inside union over CIO and the company’s closed shop contract.
