Seven Canton residents were injured early Sunday when a Canton Massillon road collision east of Massillon involved Harold McKinney and Francis McGarvey. McKinney and McGarvey suffered, with others requiring hospital care for facial lacerations, fractures, and concussions. A second crash near Alliance left a driver uninjured. another page item notes an intoxication arrest and a separate speeding charge in Canton area.
Robert Warwick aged 18 of 1922 12th street SW was arrested after drivers on Tuscarawas Street West Lincoln Avenue NW and 4th Street NW were endangered by a reckless run and a sign disregard. John K Hill 21 of 1111 McKinley Avenue SW charged with driving 60 mph on Navarre Road SW between Clarendon and Maryland Avenues. T S Jones 25 of Mineral Ridge arrested for reckless driving on Route 8 north of the city. Robert Spear 24 of 816 Concord Ave SW charged with 50 mph on Tuscarawas Street West from Elgin Avenue to Maryland Avenue. Gaston F Williams 24 of 2507 6th Street SW charged with intoxic ation after an accident on Navarre Road SW that rear-ended a car driven by Geneva Ogle. fire department put out flames. occupants escaped injury.

One hundred twenty gift boxes left Newcomerstown on Friday seventy for Camp Knox Kentucky and fifty for Camp Shelby Mississippi. Each package held a handkerchief cigarettes gum homemade candy and cookies. Engineered by Mrs Earl Treasure and Mrs Arthur Atkinson the project united local groups and residents with a village inscription To somebody from the village of Newcomerstown Ohio.
About 150 employees of the Acme Laundry & Dry Cleaning Co. celebrated a Christmas party Saturday night at the Belden hotel. Owner Fred G. Pontius sponsored it with arrangements by Clarence G. Lostetter, John Jandura, and Erwin Kimmel.
Police seek a burglar who stole 14 Christmas lights from J. E. Ryans residence at 658 N. Freedom area and 14 gallons of gasoline from Triangle Coal Co. Friday night in Alliance.
Herbert Dobbs, Ravenna food market proprietor, reported an $800 loss after two gunmen entered his store today and seized the cash. Local police opened an investigation into the armed robbery.
Former Canton resident Lieut Claude A Knight of Ocala Florida was among five airmen killed when a B 26 bomber crashed after leaving the Jackson Mississippi air base. Knight learned to fly at Martins airport and was among Mt Union Colleges early flying students. The crash cause was not officially determined though motor trouble was suggested.
A probate court office rearrangement created more space for the marriage license bureau over the weekend. A partition was removed and a new counter built, more than doubling the area available to marriage license applicants.
Louisville chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Juilliard lodge will hold their annual Christmas party at the Masonic hall Tuesday with the O E S chapter in charge of the program.
Canton Kiwanis club guests treated Fairmount Children's Home youngsters as kings for a night at the annual Christmas party. Two busloads arrived to present toys, books, clothing, and scooters after carols and a Santa appearance. The event capped weeks of prep by the home children and club volunteers.

Six directors installed: L W Bower, Theodore Zeller, W G Troyer, Clarence Williamson, John Westfall, and Chester Coleman.
Salem reports the death of Onie H. Coe, 25, of Akron, from burns sustained in an auto accident on route 14 Saturday north of the city. The incident occurred near Salem on the highway, with Coe succumbing to injuries in hospital.
East Liverpool firemen Charles Ray Castro and his younger brother Richard Eugene were listed as missing in action at Pearl Harbor aboard the same ship. The men aged 21 and 19, respectively, were serving as crew aboard the vessel when the raid occurred.
Export of Canadian Christmas trees to the United States has risen from about 300000 in 1918 to more than 6000000 per year. They bring Canadian growers more than 500000 a year.
The Associated Press reports that steel consumers pull back on nonessential output as war looms, curtailing autos and appliances to meet war needs. An Oriental rodent known as a hamster is being studied at Wells College in Aurora New York and may replace the white rat for experiments. The specimen matures faster and six students are working with six baby hamsters born in the laboratory.
