Seven Canton residents hurt in crash near Massillon

Seven Canton residents were injured early Sunday when a Canton Massillon road collision east of Massillon involved Harold McKinney and Francis McGarvey. McKinney and McGarvey suffered, with others requiring hospital care for facial lacerations, fractures, and concussions. A second crash near Alliance left a driver uninjured. another page item notes an intoxication arrest and a separate speeding charge in Canton area.

Toys ready for Santa as arcade collection grows

One hundred twenty gift boxes left Newcomerstown on Friday seventy for Camp Knox Kentucky and fifty for Camp Shelby Mississippi. Each package held a handkerchief cigarettes gum homemade candy and cookies. Bomber Crash Kills Former Canton Flier

Former Canton resident Lieut Claude A Knight of Ocala Florida was among five airmen killed when a B 26 bomber crashed after leaving the Jackson Mississippi air base. Knight learned to fly at Martins airport and was among Mt Union Colleges early flying students. The crash cause was not officially determined though motor trouble was suggested.

Akron man dies from burns after auto crash

Salem reports the death of Onie H. Coe, 25, of Akron, from burns sustained in an auto accident on route 14 Saturday north of the city. The incident occurred near Salem on the highway, with Coe succumbing to injuries in hospital.
