John C. Page, captured in Portland after a five year absence, was returned to the North Dakota penitentiary yesterday. He will be closely guarded during any outside work and faces trial for escaping custody after completing his burglary sentence in Morton County. Previously he served in Idaho and escaped custody there as well.

The imposter Thompson posed as Darkenwald to obtain funds using forged checks and real estate rumors. The bank detected the ruse and notified investigators. Minot North Dakota March 3 Steven Louth was arrested near Sherwood on the charge of stealing a team and wagon from P F Pagenhart of Palermo. Louth had just left Pagenhart's employ after acting as driver for some time and reportedly planned one last trip before quitting. A general alarm went out and he was captured by a farmer who had seen his description from Kenmare authorities.

Wildrose Farmer Injured by Deflected Bullet in Odd Incident
In Wild-Rosey North Dakota March 4 a rifle bullet killed a dog and then struck Adam Piper’s neighbor Mr. Piper in the mouth and neck. The hired man had been instructed to kill the dog and the bullet deflected, wounding Piper and causing fear of blood poisoning.
