Windy Smith Charged With Murder in Buffalo Case
State's Attorney Fowler filed a second degree murder complaint against I. S. Smith known as Windy Smith of Buffalo. Smith was held on $5,000 bond by Justice Miller and to be tried at the November district court term. The killing involved an unknown man terrorizing Buffalo residents after a May 9 running fight.

Conductors on Soo Line Acquitted in Fare-Evasion Case

The state versus Arne Amundson faced a hung jury after seventeen hours of deliberation with a 10 to 2 split for conviction. The case, transferred from Williston to Crosby, will be retried at Crosby in the September term.
