Portal Township N P al club met at Kinser home Sunday but some members were absent due to timing.
Mrs. John Elven and children left Monday for a month long visit in Austin Minnesota. Mr and Mrs John D Johnson of Falson visited relatives and friends here. A bright baby boy arrived last Wednesday for Mr and Mrs Victor Bodin. Mildred Hagen left Wednesday for Springbrook to join her family. Services next Sunday at the usual time. Rain last week was enjoyed and more is hoped for.
Mrs F C Condo departed Tuesday for Austin Minnesota to visit her elderly mother while Mrs Joe Freed travelled Tuesday to meet their relatives. Elsie and son Francis returned from Fargo where they attended Sacred Heart Academy.
Miss Odelia Condo spent Tuesday with Clarence Jacobson and Michael OBrien of Paynesville. Mrs. Tom McIntee and family hosted visiting relatives from Eden Valley. Eleanor Jacobson visits Odelia Condo. About fifty friends surprised Mr and Mrs McIntee at their home Saturday evening for their twentieth wedding anniversary. The group played games, danced, and shared a lunch brought by the ladies. The couple received a monetary gift and wishes for many more years together.
Rain touched the Brookside vicinity last week as Miss Louise Johnston ended a nine month term at Brookside school on June 2. A picnic followed the last day in a grove six miles north with races and a ball game. Pudvig Treten returned from Minot to join duties at a Columbus bank. Norwegian school begins June 14 led by Miss Annie Lunde at Gust Dahl's house. Residents visit, church gatherings draw large crowds, and services set for June 26 at Pleasant Prairie church.
