Minot North Dakota June 8 A bold attempt to loot the vault of the First National Bank of Max ended without payoff as residents returning home late surprised the would be robbers. The attackers fired three shots as they fled and escaped, having tried to burn the vault with an acetylene torch. They cut lines delaying any alarm until this morning.
