Moorhead youth hunter involved in failed pistol incident
Fargo police say Charles Lorentz a 17 year old Moorhead rider was threatened by John Peters 425 Fourth St N who pursued on horseback then returned with a revolver. Peters fired but the gun misfired as police stopped him. Peters charged with carrying a concealed weapon and assault with intent to kill and jailed at Clay County. Lorentz testified he gave Peters room to pass and Peters threatened death before the attempt.

A 66 year old man, Joseph Massey, shot his son in law, Dolliver, at Dolliver farm after a family quarrel over affairs. Dolliver died later at St Josephs hospital. Massey has pled not guilty to murder and is jailed awaiting trial.

The Burke County Federation of Women’s Nonpartisan Clubs held a biennial convention in Bowbells on June 14 1922 with twelve delegates and many visitors.
