Bowbells Fire Dept Plans 2nd Annual Ball at Lyons Opera House

Bowbells volunteers announce a January 1, 1912 ball at Lyons Opera House celebrating water works completion. The event features new uniforms, decorated hall, extensive advertising, ticket sales by five men, supper by local ladies, and a reception committee headed by Mayor Frank Smith with numerous city and out of town fire departments expected. Administrators appraisal crews and local farm equipment sales noted.

Supreme Court sustains Minot normal school location

The North Dakota Supreme Court unanimously upholding Minot as the site for a normal school. The court rejected the challenge that the Minot provision required a constitutional revision rather than a simple amendment, ruling for Minot in a weeks-long dispute.

Bowbells grocers report ample supplies for Christmas with turkeys geese and ducks plentiful after Thanksgiving. Christmas trees range four to eighteen feet and furniture sales exceed last year with Frank Bair gifting six dining chairs to Mrs Barr. Burke County Prisoners Sentenced in Minot Term

Burke County prisoners at Minot awaiting action were sentenced after a short district court session led by Judge Fisk. Pierre Remcourt drew three years in the penitentiary for saddle horse theft at Powers Lake and North Portal. Walter McDonald received one year for cashing a bogus check at a Coteau dance. William Kelly and Mat Huff got ninety days plus fines and costs, plus an extra forty five days for nonpayment. Frank Allen’s case was dismissed.

Krueger Drug Co to Become Benno Drug Co Next Year

The Krueger Drug Co will be renamed Benno Drug Co after a recent management meeting. George A. Benno, owner and manager for ten months, will continue in charge as owners keep their current partnership. Mowers & Mowers dissolve their bakery and restaurant partnership. Gomez will run the future business while Guy shifts to Socialist party work in Burke county. Gust Albertson reports threshing finished in his district. farmers nearby now have grain in bins before the blizzards. The Variety Store received about 150 dollars of graniteware, boosting its stock to the largest in the city, with prices noted as reasonable.
