In Augordbarde 78 N. Dy a man was found dead in a dwelling owned by Adolph Jauss. Neighbors saw flames after Jauss and wife left for town. Borchardt remained alone and was feeble. The fire destroyed the house before responders arrived. no stove fire was found and embers from the dead man’s pipe were suspected. The body lay between bed and window with a dipper nearby.
