Governor Frazier suspends two Burke county commissioners

Governor Frazier issued an order suspending Burke county commissioners J C Grubb and H A Kirkeli e temporarily pending a hearing in Bowbells on August 29. Attorney A J Cooper appointed to handle the case. removal cited felonies and public interest. New commissioners to be appointed within five days.

Minot Lawyer George Bulimas Found Dead In Auto

Minot attorney George Bulimas, renowned state authority on commercial law, was found dead in his car near the city yesterday. A passerby reported the scene, police investigated, and foul play is not initially suspected as investigators review the circumstances of the death.

Word arrived Friday of the marriage of Anna Finke daughter of Judge and Mrs J L Finke Bowbells township to Arthur W Jordan son of Max P Jordan Havre Mont The ceremony was at the groom s parents home in Havre conducted by a pastor W They were until recently clerks at Minot post office and are now on vacation They left Minot for Montana and are honeymooning in the Bear Paw mountains They plan to live in Minot The bride is well known in Bowbells taught school here and later civil service at the Minot post office The groom a ex service man worked at the Minot post office most of the time since leaving the army The Tribune wishes them long and happy married life

Family Survives Storm Damage After Farm House Hits

Hal Pelts and family sheltered in a cellar as savage winds battered their farm. Mr and Mrs Esterbyam and five children were swept by the hailstorm, logs torn, icy water up to their waists while they protected the younger kids. Neighbors provided aid and a puree was prepared for the family. Insurance partially covers the damaged building. this is the second time wind has destroyed their farm structures.

Wehrle of the Bismarck diocese of the Catholic church attended St. Joseph's in this city last Sunday. A number of Catholics from the area joined for the occasion and a dinner was served after the church lawn. The bishop, aged and steadfast, has long labored in the territory west of Devils Lake and north of Bismarck, making regular visits to ensure masses and rites. His early journeys were by horseback, with trips lasting many days.

Amston Larson Fatal Farm Accident at Walford City

Amston Larson a 36 year old farmer near Walford City North Dakota was fatally injured when a buggy frightened by his mother’s approach ran away. His feet were severed near the shoetops as he stood beside a binder on the field. Walter Skow a former hotel clerk visiting Bowhelia between trains observed the scene.

The hearing was postponed until Wednesday, with Bank officers and state officials cited as overseeing the matter.
