Address by Rev Scadeng Aver Red Letter Odd Fellows Day
Large attendance by Odd Fellows and Rebekahs despite bad weather marked the eighty ninth anniversary of the order at the Methodist Episcopal church. Rev D Stratford Scadeng delivered an eloquent address on the order’s growth to over a million members and urged fidelity to its teachings. Earlier Souris Odd Fellows heard him in the forenoon. A barn fire nearby endangered a residence but neighbors saved the building with water and quick action. No insurance and some livestock lost.

Barn Fire Destroys Farm Buildings Near Lansford
O A Convis of Convis Farm five miles northeast of Lansford suffered the loss of a barn, feed, and about 250 bushels of seed grain in a Sunday blaze. While burning old grain piles on a flax straw stack, the wind fanned the flames as he and a neighbor sat by the barn door unaware of the spreading fire.
