Beavers County reports full subscriptions by districts up to noon Tuesday with many districts showing over subscription. School District No 22 BEAVER to report 200 percent over subscription on the United War Work drive. Totals include Women's Committee 739.20 Liberty Girl 217.50 Liberty Boys 118.50 totaling 1076.20. Also notes entrainment calls for December 12 and greetings for local visitors Cowden A Y Fuller and daughter Jessie. The full drive forecasts a countywide success with every district meeting its quota.
The armistice ending World War I is announced from Washington. Germany must evacuate Alsace Lorraine Belgium Luxembourg Russia and Romania, disarm, and release prisoners. Allied troops will occupy the Rhine crossings and create a neutral eastern zone. Reparations and returns of looted assets are required. Germany is to be watched for internal reform as the civilized world holds the line.
The official returns show Oklahoma women carried the vote by a 10,000 majority with suffrage hailed as earned by merit. War news and celebrations followed, including triumph cheers, parades, bonfires, and declarations that the Kaiser abdicated and the war ended. Local figures in Beaver and Speermore visited the Herald office amid the revelry.
