A Beaver High School freshman play draws a large crowd while the Gospel team reports a strong Elmwood meeting. Lynn Russell visits friends near Balko as the area sees travelers from Forgan and Liberal. Justice Stilwell H. Russell dies in Oklahoma City, affecting local officials.
Beaver High School closes the school year with a Friday commencement for a class of eight. The article praises Prof Jolie Swalm and his staff for lifting the school from disorder to order, credits the faculty and assistants, and notes the anticipated return of key staff though Wickham cannot return next year.
Presbyterian and M E Church notices describe Sunday School at 10 00 am and preaching at 8 00 pm. Union Memorial Service at 11 00 pm. Mention of flood displacement and hope for future safety after recent calamity.
Rov. b rate wermon to the graduating corner of the Hoover high school Sunday evening at the Christian church. The church was tastotally decorated, and the Beaver orchestra and the choirs of all churches provided music. Mr. C. & Wayford returned from Eldorado and Oklahoma City. Widening river conditions delayed transport as bridge repairs were underway, with service maintained by wagon transfers. John Shields of Hooker visited Beaver for local business and to inspect the river situation and bridge history.
A brief history of four cases accompanies a free booklet by Dr Charles L Burke an eminent osteopath from the ana bidg area. The doctor invites readers to write him a short history of their case to receive a copy titled Catarrh and Dangers.
Heavy rains cause river rises and bank flooding across the county. Train service on the south side is halted while a railroad bridge is rebuilt, and temporary supports on the Laverne bridge are removed. Wheat fields gain moisture and residents endure travel hardships, yet express relief over harvest prospects and local life insurance industry rhetoric.
