Good Roads Meeting in Clear Lake Boosts Northwest Highway
Beaver Chamber of Commerce held a May 26 good roads meeting with Clear Lake residents. A Good Roads Club was formed led by S. A. Boileau as president and W. J. Beaner as secretary. Attendees signed up to build about twelve miles of the Northwest Highway and pledged cooperation toward connecting to the county seat.

Henry B. Smith Murdered in Liberal County Mystery
A Beaver County resident Henry B. Smith was found murdered twelve miles west of Liberal. Like nearby John Longneck er, Smith was shot in the back and his throat slashed. Police suspects include robbery or theft of a vital item, with motive unclear. A Ford car was found in Hooker, a man named H. H. Brown appeared, and many leads are being pursued as officials search for the killer.

Beaver friends note Lenore Long, daughter of Dr Mra de Le Long, continues to win high honors in school work. She led at Stephensville Missouri and remains top of her class at M A. Gamma Phi Beta awarded the junior member pin for highest class record. Marian Jones, former chapter member, died last year and her pin was returned to the chapter for Lenore.
