Alfred Huguley and family occupy Mrs Mary Leonard’s residence after moving last week. Mrs Leonard, a highly efficient high school teacher, has returned to the farm near Beaver.
Prank Laughlin and his wife, wintering in California, plan to drive back to Beaver next week. They will travel in their Buick, arriving soon with the couple expected to reach civic circle by early next week.

Remains of Smith Hinkle son of Mr and Mrs Nathan Hinkle from near Forgan were brought home under military escort after dying of influenza overseas. Undertaker H C Rierson of Beaver handled arrangements, with funeral at the Methodist church and burial in Forgan cemetery. This is the second Hinkle son to die overseas, with the other body previously returned. The family and community reflect on the sacrifice and a vow to honor their memory. Separately, startling disclosures emerge in the Henry B. Buntirth murder case, implicating two men. Frank Miller and Harry Bills are under arrest as investigations connect them via car evidence and hand-writing with other murders in the area. Authorities stress upholding the law over mob violence as they pursue justice.

W J H Proper, Burns detective, tracked Jax Longnecker, nephew of John Longnecker, to Chariton Iowa where he was arrested on a murder charge. The victim was killed at the uncle’s farm near the Kansas line three weeks prior. Longnecker had once lived with his uncle and allegedly threatened to kill him. He was in Liberal Kansas at the time of the crime and declined to return for trial. Requisition papers will be needed to bring him to the county.
Mrs W G Stranathan hosted her sister who arrived from Chicago in the early part of last week and returned to her home in the city Friday.
An order from the Post Office Department extends motor route A from Elmwood by two miles to improve rail service for John Hilton and six other families. Moon and wife arrived from their farm south of Bohrer. O H L Casky visited his William at Woodward hospital, William recovering well after an operation two weeks ago removing tense and solenoids, likely to return home this weekend. Casky traveled to Kik City but returned due to a storm near the 8th Canadian, not reaching home until after nightfall.
