Panhandle Education Association holds yearly Panhandle meet in Guymon

The second annual Panhandle Education Association gathering took place in Guymon Oklahoma February 20 21 and 22 2019 with 180 teachers in attendance It featured a debate on arming reductions where the Negative prevailed and lectures on Rural School Curriculum Yellowstone National Park and Panhandle agricultural topics The event announced new officers and adopted resolutions urging liberal state funding for the Panhandle Agricultural Institute and related facilities

Beaver Leader Ledra Healy Returns From Oklahoma Trip

Beaver ties: Ledra Healy came back from a business trip to Oklahoma City Tulva Alva and nearby locales. In Alva he joined Elkdom rites led by Armallchild of Merl and Mrs Whitaker now visiting Mrs Sarah Walker’s home, sick but improving. Beaver teachers and county staff attended the Guymon Teachers Association session, reporting a pleasant and profitable gathering.

County teacher visits during vacation amid growth removal

Miss Lydia Holm a Qd and 3d grade teacher toured as B T Hoff of Balko with Mrs Nettie Brown. They left Tuesday for Kansas City with brother in law F C Tracy where an annoying growth on her forehead will be removed. The growth is described as a dan LAND.

New Railway Extension Meeting Planned in Wichita

A Wichita business group from Kanene and Oklahoma will meet at the Wichita Business Association room to push Englewood branch extension of the Santa Fe. Led by William Little, attendees from Ashland Liberal and parts of Oklahoma will discuss extending to connect with Colmar in New Mexico.

Guymon Pushes Move of Agricultural Institute

Boosters in Guymon push to relocate the Pandane le Agricultural Institute from Goodwell to Guymon. They offer to reimburse state funds spent at Goodwell and cover moving costs plus £100000 annually for three years to aid irrigation research. Panhandl y supporters see Guymon as the logical site and urge Legislature to approve the change for northwest counties.

Mule kicks teen in fatal accident near Six Mile

Roy Beebe fifteen year old son of Mr and Mrs O E Beebe of Six Mile was seriously injured when a mule kicked him while being led to water. The hoof struck just above the right eye, tearing flesh and crushing the frontal bone. He survived the blow and is recovering, while his two sisters have been ill with pneumonia. Local business notes include Fatty Robicon seeking Gate post office appointment and Tracy planning spring dry goods purchases and a trip to St Louis with WV Swanwick for Beaver light and water project discussions.

Vagrancy Charge Led to Jail Wait for Miller

Sheriff M. Jones detained Chay Miller from Forgan on a vagrancy charge. Miller appeared before Justice Meese and, instead of posting bond, was jailed awaiting trial.

Plead Guilty After Arrest at Bill Parlor

Sheriff Jones arrested D. P. Miller and Jake Little at the bill parlor on Mocn Monday morning. Both pled guilty to charges, were fined 1000 each and ordered to pay costs.

Beaver School Reports Week Ending February 21

Week ends with 101 percent enrollment and 178 in attendance. Several teachers attended the Panhandle Educational Association in Guymon, no school Thursday and Friday due to trip. Basketball game vs Balko set for Saturday, March 1 at home. Plans for annual Roundup, exhibit changes, and commencement prep noted. Track team to Gaymon for Tri County meet on April 12. Assembly praises PE high. Dr Long presented hygiene lectures. fourth talk addressed student welfare and school spirit.
