Missionary services were conducted at the Federated church Sunday morning with Judge R. H. Loofbourren, Geo. H. Wright, and W. T. Quinn speaking on World Progress in Missionary work, national progress, and State efforts. Special musical numbers enhanced the pleasing program.

The Southwest American Live Stock Show, set for the week of March 27 in Oklahoma City, aims to aid farmers and cattle raisers by improving herd quality and profits. Exhibits cover all breeds and types, with features appealing to cattlemen and even children fond of baby beeves.
Special services at the Methodist church Sunday night invited all returned soldiers. A large packed congregation heard Logan native Leed Bingham recount front line experiences, notably at Chateau Thierry. Claude T. Smith, back from overseas, presided as veterans and 8. A. T. students shared in the program with songs and an original solo by Olney Barker.
W D Hall of Riverside neighborhood received a fine registered Shorthorn male calf last week. He purchased it from a local seller and plans to raise better stock for improved farming. Hall is noted as deeply interested in better cattle breeding and farming.
The club of Delaval Dream Separator users continues to expand this week with Fred Mehl of Balko enrolling as a member by purchasing one of the popular Dela models from Beaver Hardware & Furniture Co. Dealers. H. Crabtree and wife and son, Liberal visitors, were in Beaver over dental work for Mr. Crabtree.
Beaver residents learned of E. Y. Ogilvie and sons planning a 60 barrel flour mill in Beaver. Located centrally as county seat, it will supply local flour and offer direct wheat sale or grinding for farmers. The Ogilvies have operated a smaller La Kemp mill and tested flour as good. the larger mill with a bleacher will produce four times as much quality product.
A Beaver and Harper counties lawmaker notes in a 1918 motor vehicle tax record that 99 percent of the $11,152.48 paid into the state highway treasury was allocated to Beaver County for road maintenance, not construction, and asks where the $10,000 remains and how it was spent, urging the county commissioners to disclose the fund’s use.
The County Farm Council meeting called by County Agent Newsom drew farmers from across the county. Speakers included B M Jackson District Director of Agricultural Work Jas A Wilson Federal Director of Extension Work and Dorothy Sexauer Home Economics specialist. A temporary organization was formed with P H Sebastian Gray as chair and H Hobble Forgan as vice chair. The next meeting is set for March 18 at 1 pm at the court house.
The post office department is installing motor truck mail routes to extend parcel post and gather farm products like eggs butter and poultry along the routes. An article lists proposed routes from Woodward to Buffalo and west routes to Boyd Grand Valley Range Gaymon Goodwell Texhoma Garlington and Boise City. Citizens are urged to petition the Post Master General and Congressmen urging establishment of the routes.
Citizens question why the old Board to County Commissioners remains in power past their term January 1 1919. They allege a corrupt 1917 law extended terms by delaying the new board’s start, forcing the old board to serve in a de facto capacity despite November election defeats.
Beaver Lodge No. 7 Knights of Pythias marked the fifty fifth anniversary of the order with a hall ceremony on Tuesday honoring returned soldiers. The program featured invocations, welcomes, and talks by J. W. Culwell and others, with music by Beaver Orchestra. An invitation to all veterans to join the Order was extended with a waived initiation fee for new members.
Beaver county records show the Board of County Commissioners debated perpetual designation of the official county paper for 1919 and beyond. The piece notes local figures such as Mrs. Cathy, C. O.
