The Beaver Lodge elected officers last Thursday night. B. Bradshaw was named Worshipful Master and W. Casky chosen as Senior Warden. HH. M. Bulick served as host after a meal.
There is a notice that a quantity of flower and garden seeds has been advised by stor W Harreld to be sent to The Herald for distribution in Washington D. C. for this district. Interested readers are urged to notify the office to receive seeds on arrival. First come, first served. submit applications now.
The Mothers' Club again served meals for court crowds last week and this week. They cleared about $81 last week and another dinner and lunch netted $60 this Monday. The group is praised for its hard work and fundraising effort.
Henry Block of eight miles southeast of Beaver was summoned to Coffeyville by his wife’s death. She had been in poor health and went there for treatment. Her death occurred Friday of last week. The Herald extends sympathy to the bereaved husband.
William R. Bingham and Mary J. Mullenx both of Logan obtained a marriage license and were married by Judge Meese in the courthouse Tuesday. The Herald extends best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
L. R. Brooks this week purchased the Geo. T. Bailey dray line here. Mr. Brooks is always on the job and we are assured of a continuance of the good services of the past under the new management.
The Card Club was most delightfully entertained by Tilly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Lawson on Wednesday evening. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Pruett. Delightful refreshments were served.
Bank of Beaver City First State Bank of Forgan and The Oklahoma State Bank at Floris plan to double capital stock to handle growth. They consider merging Floris bank with Forgan unit if railway line remains uncertain, vowing ample cash for customers in Denver county regardless of conditions.
The Pueblo Chieftain notes attorney F. Twyford of Beav er and former county official has advanced to deputy attorney for the Twelfth Judicial District in Alamosa. Twyford recently practiced law in Sanguache and is praised by local friends for his continued rise in the legal field.
Frank Shockley of Perryton Texas formerly of Beaver was a business visitor in Beaver Monday. He says his family is well except his wife who has been in the hospital but is improving. Also mentions Klepper's Big Sale at Clear Lake and a note about Christmas mail with tuberculosis seals.
Plans completed for a four event Christmas celebration at the county courthouse on Christmas Eve December 24 in Beaver. A large evergreen tree will be lit and filled with treats. Committees cover finance, tree, program, music, decorations, piano, advertising, purchasing, and candy sacks. The Beaver Mothers Club coordinates candy sacks and invitations. The event aims to bring neighbors together, ensure every child is remembered, and promote community spirit and goodwill.
Mrs. O. H. Cafky chairs the Christmas Real Sale in Beaver County. She sent Christmas seals to all school districts and urged teachers to sell at least two dollars worth to aid tuberculosis relief and prevention. The drive emphasizes district participation and disease awareness amid Oklahoma’s health challenges.
Miss Mita Faye Hetrick, a north of Roaston teacher, was shot and killed by her brother in law Alfred Johnson in front of pupils as she prepared to start class. Johnson, infatuated and threatening over a young fiancé, killed himself after reloading his shotgun. Bodies sent to Pennsylvania and Missouri.
A group of young people gathered December 14 at Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Tracy home for Minn Louise Tracy’s sixteenth birthday. They enjoyed social games and music and were treated to a two course lunch served by the hosts with help from Misses Eleanore Tracy and Marion Coles.
W. T. Coles, secretary of the harbor of commerce, resigns to become a traveling salesman for Motor Supply Co. of Enid. He and his wife plan a visit to Erie Kansas with his parents before settling in Lawton where he will base his work.
John O Brian, employed by G Hildebrand ten miles southwest of Beaver, disappeared Sunday with Mr Hildebrand s team of mules and his wagon. He pulled Elmer Swiger s rural car from the ditch Saturday, stayed at Swiger s, and left Sunday morning about nine. He is about forty, five eight, 140 pounds, dark hair and eyes, with a black mustache. Notify Sheriff Bridgewater.

Ebert Hall of Beaver County was shot while out near his home last Thursday night while hunting coyotes. He fell and discharged his gun, fracturing both bones in his lower leg. Hall was taken to H. L. Wright’s home and is reported as improving. Also, O M Taylor, jailed recently for parole violation, faces another worthless check tied to Tom Emerson as he traveled through Forgan. Sheriff Bridgewater pursued him after he was seen near Knowles. Taylor is described as clever at forgery and may face repeat incidents.

If the motion to organize passes, a committee on constitution and by laws will be appointed later for permanent organization. An interesting program will be given. County Supt W L Henson and County Agent W B Hanly drove to the Palestine District near Gray to organize a club similar to Parent-Teacher or community groups. The initiative aims to create a local civic gathering with educational and communal aims.
