Patriotic farewell entertainment for returning servicemen

A large crowd gathered at the Globe Building and K P hall for a patriotic program honoring soldiers en route to service. Rev J E Perkins presided as Private Clarence Strong spoke on leave and J R Quinn, a Civil War veteran, opened the program with remarks. Rev W B Leonard Attorney Roscor Risley and Rev Davis offered talks while the band provided music. Citizens lined the streets to bid the departing troops God speed, with a late midnight dance and commemoration at the depot.
