Alma voters may be asked in November to approve an $80,000 bond to finance a deep well system extension, an 150,000 gallon elevated tank, a 1,000,000 gallon reservoir, and related water extensions. City engineer William E. Reynolds outlined plans and costs, including a duplex pump and deeper well taps for future supply, plus fire protection needs. Directors elected Harry Gerber, manager of Home Lumber & Fuel Co., as president to lead while the reorganization from Board of Trade to Chamber continues. Henry S. Babcock was added as a director to fill a vacancy from Henry H. Soule’s death. A two-member committee was appointed to seek a full-time secretary and dues policy remains to be settled soon.
