The Board of Supervisors reconsidered the plan rejection and passed the resolution.
The 1908 Legislature authorized up to ten county normal schools with local funding shared by the county and district. One-year and two-year programs would grant teaching certificates valid across the state. Ithaca, Gratiot County, may host one this year if the board of supervisors approves, aiding teacher shortages while keeping tuition free.
