Suspected Man Disappears After St Louis Pig Night Death

A man believed to be involved in a fatal street brawl in St Louis vanished after the Suspected killer, described as about fifty, was found beaten at a main street stairway. Dave Sullivan died at Alma Brainerd hospital days later from a skull fracture. Local officials and a coroner examined the skull and brain, while the dying suspect reportedly muttered about money and a glass eye before vanishing.

The Ithaca and Alma Odd Fellows united on Wednesday evening to confer the degree on a class of fifteen candidates from Stanton. The ceremony took place at the Odd Fellow hall in this city with about twenty five attendees from both Ithaca and Stanton. An informal banquet followed for visiting cantons and delegates. Alma High School defeated Saginaw West Side 13 to 12 on Daviy Field in sunlit but rough conditions. Alma showed teamwork and coaching, with steady forward passes and solid runs by Mahr Smith Handley and Stevens scoring on a pass. Heavy line work and stout defense halved the rival’s gains as Alma’s defense intercepted passes and halted key plays.

Lee Myers and friends from Breckenridge driving a Oakland touring car from St. Louis to Alma fell into a water filled sewer hole at the Michigan avenue Bridge street intersection Sunday night. The red lanterns were out and the car sank to Myers’ waist in mud but no one was seriously injured. The car was raised by city equipment and hauled to a garage.

Governor Ferris Arrives in Alma for Rally on Special Train

Governor Ferris reached Alma by special train at 11 15 am Saturday to a warm reception. A band and large crowd greeted him on Superior street before he spoke forcefully from the car observation platform. Introduced by William A Bahike, he received loud cheers. Frank Anderson and wife visited Alma Sunday. Anderson, nicknamed Pink, once studied at Alma College.
