Willard and Gray Map Shorter Klondike Route

Fred D Willard and Will Gray describe a 2000 mile shorter overland trek to the Klondike from Spokane Falls via Vernon Kamloops and the Chilkoot pass. They claim expert guides, favorable country, abundant game and minerals, with initial costs around 250 dollars and wintering in Alma and Chicago before marching north. They extol Alaska Chinook language knowledge and predict a swift, cheaper voyage than sea routes.

Epworth League Hosts Welcome for New Alma Pastor

Epworth League and M. E. church members and friends hosted a reception for Rev. M. D. Carrel and his family at Odd Fellows Hall last Thursday. About 150 attendees enjoyed cream and cake served by pink apron clad helpers. The Carrels plan Alma as home. two sons are entering college, and locals voiced a cordial welcome to the new pastor and family. Elm Hall Camp Fire slated for Prison's Grove next Tuesday with Sumner Post and Elm Hall volunteers joining for a big event. attendees urged to bring lunch and enjoy the time. Card of Thanks expresses gratitude for kindness during illness and wartime hardships to neighbors and friends.

Twenty-Four Years a Florist in Alma Leader Story

J A Bittner a German immigrant who started in Dresden learned floristry, worked in Kaneburg Detroit Grand Haven and Alma where he built a large greenhouse and ran a thriving florist business. He married Emma Millman and prospered through hard times, later expanding his Alma operation and earning praise for his resilience and patronage. Reception Brings Youth Groups Together for Social Night

Christian Endeavorers hosted Ipworth League Baptive Vioing People's Walon and other associations last Saturday. A large turnout enjoyed a pleasant social evening with tents and light refreshments nearby. The event aimed to unite young people from Awe and college communities to foster better understanding and strengthen Christian unity. The Laws Sejewe committeion planned activities, and the pastor opened the gathering with a sermon. All are cordially invited to future events.
