County Supervisors in Ithaca Session Formed Bank Depository

County officials in Ithaca held ongoing sessions this week. The board accepted the Ithaca National Bank as county depository for the coming year at 3.5 percent on daily balances, amid reports on poor farm finances and salaries for county officers. Myron Hull of St. Louis was elected school examiner and Zeke Arnold named to the board of supervisors.

Potato Outlook Excellent Across State Harvest Forecast

Frederick C. Martindale, Secretary of State, reports strong potato and grain prospects. Sugar beet harvests near 900,000 tons. wheat yields by region range 16 to 22 bushels per acre with total state yield around 15.2 million bushels. Wheat marketed in September totals 445,478 bushels across mills and dealers. August-September marketing reaches 2,750,100 bushels. Acreage sown this fall stays near five-year averages. rye harvest projected at 372,300 acres yielding about 5,956,800 bushels. Various regional yields and acreages are detailed, with regional deviations and a final note on state-wide production expectations.

Short Course for Farmers at Mt Pleasant Normal

A week long practical school of agriculture will be held at Mt Pleasant Normal. It offers stock feeding stock judging soil experiments and spraying with chemistry of farm products demonstrated. Burglars Escape After Post Office Explosion

Four county officers search for two men who forced entry by prying the Wailling Post Office door. They used nitroglycerine to blast open the vault, escaped with 50 in stamps, and left by motor before dawn on Friday. Evangelistic Services Begin in City Church Week Ahead

Miss Bernardine Lenderink of Grand Rapids, trained in Chicago for missionary evangelists, has begun work in the Methodist church assisting three Sunday services. Strangers Arrested After Theft Near Town

Report from The Sheridan Advertiser recounts two men who claimed to be from Alma entering a hotel harness room and stealing clothing owned by Frank Sloan. They were pursued, stopped about a mile north of town, the clothes recovered, and the pair were arrested by Deputy Fuller and jailed at Stanton.
