Alma Empire Over Olivet In 27 0 Victory

Alma College football dominated Olivet College with a 27 to 0 win. Led by Hoolihan and Art Foote, Alma controlled the line and converted turnovers into scores while captain Johnston watched from the sideline with a broken shoulder. Olivet offered brief threats but were repeatedly stopped by Alma’s strong defense and a series of decisive rushing plays.

New Meat Market Building Rising On East Side

Bert Eckert of Alma undertakes a brick 20 by 50 foot one story building at Euclid and East Superior streets on the east side. When finished this year it will house the first exclusive meat market on that river east side, with completion hoped for soon depending on fair weather.

Alma Leads Michigan Towns in Five Year Growth

Alma shows 175 percent growth in five years based on the last census and Michigan tax commission data. Population rose from 2657 to an estimated 5500 by midsummer.
