Tragedy in Shepard: 17 year old Edward Struble dies by suicide
Edward Struble aged 17 committed death by own action at his Shepard home last Saturday morning. The youth, who had a troubled past including a run to Indiana and time in a Federal reform school, died within an hour after a 22 caliber revolver shot to the heart. His father, merchant JM Struble, found him in a locked room. Burial services were held Sunday afternoon in Shepard, noted as the village’s largest funeral.
