Storm Sweeps Alma with Severe Property Loss
Last Thursday evening a violent storm struck Alma and surrounding areas, bringing extremely high winds that toppled fences and grandstands at the Alma College athletic field. The Pullasky block chimney collapsed through a roof, ruining $2,000 in clothing, and many farms suffered extensive barn and silo damage with losses running into thousands. Dozens of structures and numerous trees were destroyed or damaged, with several farms reporting hundreds in uninsured losses.
