Contest Friday in Albion District Oratorical Event

Donald J. Dunham and Mine Augusta Arnold will compete in Albion Friday night in a district oratorical and declamation contest enlarged by the fusion of two districts. Arnold, sub district declamation winner with Toussaint L'Ouverture, will perform again, while Dunham, sub district oratorical winner with The Dependence Contre, will present the ovation. The two districts span the lower Peninsula, including most of the state’s lower schools.

Aeroplanes coming to Gratiot County

Five planes from Selfridge field Mt Clemens will visit Alma next week to boost the Victory Loan campaign and air service recruitment. With details still being arranged, Lieut Arnold Robinson led efforts with Selfridge field and the War Department to send the aircraft to Gratiot County for a two drive period. The special visit is expected to benefit road campaigns and air service recruitment in Michigan.
