Preparations are underway for a large meeting of local firemen to be held here on June 10. The event is described as a big gathering with expected participation from many fire brigades and officials. Local organizers urge attendance and note plans for demonstrations and discussions.
Delegates from across the state will attend while Alma firemen prepare to host the association June 10 and 11. A memorial service for Thomas Hogan will be held and the new village hall dedicated with several fire departments expected to participate.

A Alma area planing mill and manufacturing firm run by Tinker and Hiatenh, located near Woodwort Avenue beside the Ann Arbor and Pere Marquette tracks, suffered a major fire on June 4, 101. The blaze damaged machinery and prevented production for the season, though the firm is famed for sash doors mouldings and interior fittings across central Mohigen.
A plant destroyed by fire rebuilt quickly with a new, up-to-date mill now in operation. Within sixty days the facility is back producing with modern machinery and updated capacity. The note indicates ongoing expansion and a continuation to further details on page four.
