Gold Ducking on Pine River Ends with Cold Plunge

Last Monday a rafting mishap sent Harry Redman and Roy Hendershot into icy Pine River near the Superior street bridge. They clung to a raft then swam ashore with help after about half an hour in frigid water. Doctor ordered two days of bed rest to thaw out. A separate Alma drive seeks a $100,000 port office, with Congressman Fordney likely to introduce the bill.

A Chicago home wedding unites Miss Choral Boyd and Mr Maynard A Cook at the bride’s Madison Wisconsin parents’ home on March 22. Auto train collision injures four in Brainerd

Four occupants of a bus escaped serious harm when a train struck the vehicle at a crossing on West Superior Street near the factory district. Driver and Miss Rohrenhagen were taken to Brainerd's Hospital overnight. Demers and Miss Hayes suffered cuts and facial injuries while Rockwell endured the worst pain but regained some consciousness by morning. A watchman observed the near collision and signaled to stop as the bus crossed the tracks.

River Flood Hits Alma Town and Riverside Mills

Heavy rains swelled the Moe River three feet by Monday and six feet above normal by Tuesday, flooding low land around the railroad yards and South Alma. The Alvis Geain & Lander Co power plant failed for the spring flood, dams failed upstream, and many basements flooded. Health officials warned residents to clean cellars to prevent typhoid. river receded starting Wednesday with further drop anticipated by Saturday.

Mrs Samuel Grant expired at her home in this city last Saturday. The deceased was seventy six years old. Details of her life and survivors are incomplete due to the fragmentary report.
